Starting a search for a
Furnished Apartment will be more successful if you have a list of the
requirements you need before you begin your search. Make a list of the most
important questions and define the order of importance. Take careful notes
when visiting a potential Furnished Apartment. Make a checklist and
carefully review each item as you go down the list. Does the furnished apartment have the correct number of bedrooms and closet space? Is there a bathroom with each bedroom or are shared bathrooms sufficient? What about the kitchen? Will you have to provide your own appliances, and if not, are the current appliances sufficient to meet your needs? Are the appliances gas or electric? Do you prefer hardwood floors or carpeting in a furnished apartment? Do you need a furnished apartment with a separate dining room or fireplace? A furnished apartment lease may include fees for maintenance of appliances and furnishings. Check with your landlord and make sure these fees are spelled out in your lease. Some other items of importance to check whether you are renting a furnished apartment or unfurnished apartment are parking, laundry facilities, are pets allowed, is there a pool or play areas, and is it a quiet neighborhood. Is there an elevator and is your apartment handicap accessible? You should also check your
furnished apartment for proximity to major roads, availability of
public transportation, and whether the landlord is on the premises for ease
of access. One further issue with a furnished apartment is
subletting. Many tenants rent with the sole intention of subletting. Check
with your landlord before going forward with subletting. |
